When one is focused on the familiar the proces of transformation – change, growth – is slowed down. Transformation means that one has to be prepared to look at the unfamiliar and, more fearfull even, to be looked at by the unfamiliar. And this is what Kaganof does. Through his eyes we look at the unfamiliar, looking at us. And from this unbiased exchange of perceptions comes the transformation, which is the heart of the universe, for from it comes diversity and beauty.
The only thing that makes sense in the universe, besides love which is vulnerable, is beauty. Timeless, indestructable beauty. Kaganof’s ouevre adds to this beauty. Its daring to fail and its subtle rawness and profound elegance are proof once more that there is no ugliness in the universe. There is only beauty and motion or transformation. The only ugliness worth mentioning is fake, and even that has its charm.
